Mandawa is a small town stationed in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan,a part of Shekhawati region. It is believed that it was founded by the Mandu Jat. Originally it was known as Mandu ki dhani,Mandu ka bas or Manduwas which gradually changed to Mandawa. Located at a distance of 190 km from the pink city Jaipur, Mandawa houses imposing forts and havelis. The town was renovated by the merchant family in the 18th century. Rich businessmen contributed by adding beautiful havelis to the town. These architectural marvel which were left unattended for years still hold their old world charm. It is an entertainment spot because of its social and cultural activities.

What To Expect

Start your Mandawa adventure with a ride from your chauffeur who will meet you in the lobby of your Jaipur hotel at 8:00am. You will take a 4-hour, scenic drive to Mandawa town in Rajsthan (located approximately 180kms from Jaipur). The town of Mandawa is abundant with Haveli's, mansions that were built in the 18th century. The area is considered to be one of historical and cultural significance.

You will start your Mandawa tour by gaining access to some of the most popular Havelis in the area. Some of the must-visit Haveli’s are: The Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli, Mohan Lal Saraf, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, Jhunjunwala Haveli and Murmuria Haveli. Witness the truly unique works of art that adorn the walls of the Haveli's before enjoying a bite to eat at Castle Mandawa for lunch.

Next, you will visit the cenotaphs belonging to family members of a royal family. Then take a scenic walk through the colourful bazaars of Mandawa. Around 17:00, you will board your private air-conditioned vehicle and return back to your hotel room in Jaipur.
